GrX Short-Term Missions: Beijing Vision Trip In Partnership with New Ventures (Part of OMF) Dates: Sept 27 - Oct 11, 2005
About New Venture
The New Ventures is OMF International’s most recently birthed ministry team that formed to facilitate the growing opportunities present in China’s capital city of Beijing, particularly amongst the students, intellectuals, and young professionals. New Ventures is preparing the way for Christian professionals to enter into various universities and marketplaces in Beijing where the future leaders of China are currently being educated, trained, and employed. Why China?
The world’s most populous nation has experienced dynamic economic growth and development over the last twenty years. China has entered the 21st century as a major player in the world economy. What happens in China affects the whole world.
The spotlight will be on China during the next few years as they prepare to host the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
At the same time, China’s leaders face enormous needs and challenges, and they are open to foreigners as never before. Christian professionals can make a lasting contribution to China through their expertise and demonstration of Christ’s love.
Now is the time!! There is a rapidly growing Church Planting (CP) movement that first began in the rural areas, but now has reached the urban cities. By fanning the flames of an already growing CP movement, much can be done while the “coals” are still hot.
Why Beijing?
As the capital of China, Beijing is the hub of the intellectual, economic, political, and social activities for China and thus poses numerous opportunities for Christians of all kinds of backgrounds, skills, and interests. It is the home to many different people groups across the socioeconomic spectrum. The Church in Beijing is the strongest and fastest growing among the urban cities of China. Beijing not only provides political, cultural and educational leadership, but it is also fast becoming the spiritual leader of China.
